If working under the strictures of 'Building Regulations' ie New Build including extensions, then Rapid Ventilation must be incorporated. This means that the 'clear area' created by open windows must not be less than one twentieth of the floor area. Again, in 'New Build, situations 'background ventilation' must be incorporated – usually by 'trickle vents'.
